KANSAS CITY, Kan. – (March 6, 2020) – A Kansas City man has been ordered to repay more than $6,800 to the Kansas Medicaid Program after being found guilty of Medicaid fraud-related charges, Attorney General Derek Schmidt said. Derek L. Brown, 54, pleaded guilty in January in Wyandotte County District Court to one felony count of Medicaid fraud. Wyandotte County District Judge Michael Russell yesterday ordered Brown to repay $6,844.80 to the Kansas Medicaid Program. Judge Russell also sentenced Brown to 30 months probation with an underlying prison sentence of 12 months.
