TOPEKA – (April 6, 2021) – The Kansas Senate today unanimously confirmed the nomination of Steven D. Anderson as Medicaid Inspector General, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said. The Senate voted 40-0 in support of Anderson, who replaces Sarah Fertig who resigned the position in July 2020 to become director of the state’s Medicaid program within the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Anderson was nominated to the position in January. “I am honored and excited to begin the hard work of this important oversight function,” Anderson said.
