Johnson County organization recognized for improving the lives of crime victims

TOPEKA – (April 13, 2018) – The Sexually Abused Children’s Relief Endeavor (SACRED) was recognized for its service to crime victims during this week’s Crime Victims’ Rights Conference in Topeka. The organization was presented the Outstanding Victim Service Organization Award by Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt during an awards ceremony yesterday. SACRED, based in Overland Park, was founded by John and Carol D’Attoma in 2009 after their granddaughter was sexually abused by her biological father. The organization is dedicated to assisting families in immediate financial need due to child sexual abuse, and works closely with accredited child advocacy agencies.
