TOPEKA – (April 13, 2018) – Labette County Attorney Stephen Jones was recognized for his service to crime victims during this week’s Crime Victims’ Rights Conference in Topeka. Jones was presented the Outstanding Criminal Justice Victim Service Award for Prosecution by Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt during an awards ceremony yesterday. Jones takes the time to have regular and constant contact with victims. His focus on the needs of domestic violence victims, as well as accountability of those who batter, prompted him to become an active member of the attorney general’s Batterer Intervention Program Advisory Board.
