Topeka business recognized for service to crime victims

TOPEKA – (April 13, 2018) – Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka was recognized for its service to crime victims during this week’s Crime Victims’ Rights Conference in Topeka. FHLB was presented the Community Champion Victim Service Award by Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt during an awards ceremony yesterday. In 2017, FHLB’s Community Affairs Committee began working with the YWCA Center for Safety and Empowerment.  The committee and the YWCA developed a plan to increase occupancy by 20 percent by building a new bedroom in the basement. For the second year of the partnership, projects will include remodeling a half-bath in the basement to a full bathroom, installing flooring in the basement, painting and landscaping.
