OLATHE – (November 8, 2019) – A Johnson County man has been found guilty of illegally selling motor vehicles and failing to remit sales taxes owed to the state, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said. Victor Manuel Molina-Cervantes, 29, yesterday pleaded no contest in Johnson County District Court to one count of selling motor vehicles without a license and one count of violating the Kansas Retailer Sales Tax Act. The case stemmed from an investigation by the Office of Special Investigations of the Kansas Department of Revenue, which revealed that between September 2017 and May 2018, Molina-Cervantes was illegally selling motor vehicles without a license out of a now-defunct business named V&P Auto Sales in Merriam and failing to remit the taxes...
