TOPEKA – (November 14, 2019) – Kansans now can access a public listing of door-to-door peddlers who have been prohibited by court order from doing business in the state, Attorney General Derek Schmidt said today. The Kansas Legislature passed a law in 2016 making it a crime for a person to violate a court order prohibiting that person from engaging in door-to-door sales. The attorney general’s office for the first time today is publishing on its consumer protection website a list of those individuals and businesses banned from door-to-door sales in Kansas. The list contains 24 peddlers banned in Kansas as of today; it will be updated as new peddlers are banned or if peddlers are removed from the list. Each entry also contains a link to the court...
